Jakarta, August 16, 2024 — The American Halal Foundation (AHF) is proud to announce its recent accreditation by the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH), the new governmental body responsible for overseeing and regulating halal certification in Indonesia.

This accreditation reinforces AHF’s commitment to guiding U.S. companies through the changing and complex regulatory environment, helping them to tap into the growing market in Indonesia as well as other regions globally.
AHF has long been a trusted authority in halal certification for over a decade, previously recognized by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), the former certifying authority.
The accreditation was formally awarded on February 20, 2024, following a thorough review procedure by BPJPH, responsible for enforcing the 2014 Halal Products Assurance Law, a law which mandates halal certification for imports to the country.
AHF’s expanded scope enables U.S. companies to export a wider range of halal-certified products to Indonesia and other international markets.
During the Halal-20 Halal World 2023 event in Jakarta, BPJPH reinforced its dedication to global cooperation in halal product assurance. A key highlight of the event was the signing of a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) between BPJPH and 37 Foreign Halal Institutions (LHLN), including AHF.
